Zelensky, US TV presenter Jimmy Fallon discuss cooperation options to draw world attention to events in Ukraine
KYIV. Aug 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a video conversation with U.S. TV presenter, actor and comedian Jimmy Fallon, during which the interlocutors discussed options for cooperation that would draw the world’s attention to events in Ukraine, the presidential press service said.
"Time passes, and people, unfortunately, are even accustomed to the fact that there is a war going on in Europe in the 21st century. We cannot allow this to happen. This topic needs to be constantly raised. And it is people like you, Jimmy, who can help us with this," Zelensky said.
He noted the work of Fallon and admitted that before the war he was sometimes a spectator.
"Now we are going through a very dark period. And, it would seem, there is no time for jokes at all. However, sometimes it is humor that gives additional strength to move forward," the head of the Ukrainian state said.
He also invited Jimmy Fallon to Ukraine.
