Zelensky signs decree on establishment of Advisory Council on de-occupation, reintegration of Crimea
KYIV. Aug 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has decided to create an Advisory Council on De-Occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (ARC) and the city of Sevastopol as an advisory body under the head of state.
Corresponding decree No. 579/2022 of August 15 was published on the website of the head of state.
According to the document, in order to facilitate the coordination of activities on de-occupation, reintegration and restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, protection of citizens’ rights, overcoming the consequences and compensation for damage caused to the state of Ukraine, its citizens and legal entities due to the aggression of the Russian Federation, as well as projects and activities within the framework of the Crimea Platform, according to Paragraph 28 of Part one of Article 106 of the Constitution of Ukraine, Zelensky decided to form an Advisory Council, as well as approve the Regulations on the Advisory Council.
The Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine has been instructed to make proposals on the personal composition of the Advisory Council within a month.
The text of the regulation notes that the Advisory Council is formed as part of the head, secretary and other members of the Advisory Council participating in its work on a voluntary basis.
The head of the Advisory Council is the President of Ukraine, the Secretary of the Advisory Council is the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the ARC.
