Zelensky pledges to refrain from introducing presidential system in Ukraine

TRUSKAVETS. Oct 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he will not initiate a bill amending the country’s constitution in order to change the form of government and make Ukraine a presidential republic.

"I’m not going to make a presidential republic," Zelensky said at a press briefing in Truskavets, Lviv region, following a meeting with members of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction on Sunday.

At the same time, he denied the thesis that power in Ukraine is concentrated in the hands of the president, and all decisions are made in the President’s Office.
