Zelensky, Orbán discuss development of Ukraine-Hungary bilateral cooperation

KYIV. Dec 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán held a telephone conversation on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, the presidential press service has said.

"Today marks the 30th anniversary of the day Hungary was the third to recognize the independence of Ukraine and became the first state with which we established diplomatic relations. We will always remember this manifestation of solidarity and support for Ukraine," Zelensky said.

The president noted Ukraine’s disposition to develop good-neighborly relations with Hungary on the basis of mutual respect and constructive dialogue.

"We are ready to work together with you to realize the potential of our relations for the benefit of the peoples of Ukraine and Hungary," he said.

The interlocutors discussed further steps to develop bilateral cooperation and agreed to intensify efforts to achieve progress on all issues that are now on the agenda.

Zelensky thanked Orbán for Hungary’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, noting, in particular, the participation of the Hungarian President in the inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform, and invited Orbán to visit Ukraine.
