Zelensky: Life of soldiers, results on battlefield depend on quality of officers' training

KYIV. Aug 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Thursday, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited Hetman Petro Sahaydachny National Academy of Land Forces as part of a working trip to Lviv region, where he got acquainted with the organization of the educational process at the institution, the press service of the head of state said.

It is noted that Zelensky talked with the staff of the academy and stressed that all employees are well aware of the challenges facing Ukraine.

"You know who our enemy is, what he is capable of. You know that we are doing absolutely everything to win this war. You know that even after our victory, this neighbor of Ukraine will not disappear," he said during his speech.

The head of state also noted that the life of soldiers and the outcome of hostilities largely depend on the quality of training of officers and the level of teachers. According to him, during the years of independence, more than 10,000 highly qualified specialists for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trained at the National Academy of the Ground Forces, and during the war more than 1,500 graduates and teachers of the institution were awarded state awards.

At the same time, 32 officers were awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, nine of them posthumously.

"Ukraine will always remember its warriors, its heroes, who gave their lives for the freedom of our people," Zelensky said.

He also expressed special gratitude to the teachers who, from the first days of the full-scale invasion of Russia, became part of the consolidated rifle battalions formed on the basis of the academy and bravely defended Kyiv.

The president presented state awards to teachers and cadets.
