Zelensky: It’s honor for me to be first president of Ukraine, whom British monarch honors with his audience
KYIV. Feb 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, following a meeting with King Charles III of the United Kingdom, said that it was an honor for him to be the first president of Ukraine, whom the British monarch honored with his audience.
“I had a meeting with King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I congratulated him on his recent accession to the throne and wished peace and prosperity to the British people. It is an honor for me to be the first President of Ukraine in the history of Ukrainian-British relations to be honored by the British monarch with an audience,” Zelensky said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
He also expressed gratitude to His Majesty for the warm welcome and support of Ukrainian citizens who have found a shelter from the war in the UK.
