Zelensky invites Moscow to join Crimea Platform for joint development of ways to de-occupy Crimea

KYIV. Aug 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky offers the Russian Federation to join the Crimea platform in order to work out ways to de-occupy Crimea.

"If this platform is of so great interest to [Russia], then we invite the Russian Federation to join the Crimea platform to jointly work out ways to de-occupy Crimea and correct its [Russia’s] historical mistake," Zelensky said at the end of the constituent summit of the Crimea platform in Kyiv on Monday.

The head of the Ukrainian state explained his invitation to the Russian Federation to join the Crimea platform by active discussions in the Russian Federation of the topic of holding the constituent summit of the Crimea Platform.

"The Russian Federation did not take part in our summit, but they discussed, commented, and reacted so actively in Russia. In one word, the Russian Federation was so active that it seemed as if it was a full-fledged participant in the Crimea platform," the president said.

"I promise that the declaration of the summit condemning the occupation of Crimea will always contain a line for the signature by a representative of the Russian Federation. I think that, most likely, this signature will be the last at the last summit of the Crimea platform in Yalta," Zelensky added.
