Zelensky: ‘Invicibility centers’ to start working if electricity supplies cannot be quickly restored – Zelensky

KYIV. Nov 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The work of the Points of Invincibility, also called Invincibility Centers, in the cities of Ukraine will be activated if, as a result of Russian missile strikes, electricity supplies cannot be restored within hours, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video statement on Tuesday.

"As a result of this day, more than 4,000 such centers have already been prepared. More planned. If massive Russian strikes take place again and if there is an understanding that electricity supplies cannot be restored within hours, then the work of the Points of Invincibility will be launched," he said.

According to the president, it will be possible to get basic services in them "electricity, mobile communications and the Internet, heat, water, first aid kit. Completely free and around the clock."

"Centers will work without fail at all regional and district administrations, as well as at schools, buildings of the State Emergency Service, etc. A special website www.nezlamnist.gov.ua is already operating, which contains a map of such points throughout the country. It is constantly being updated," Zelensky said.

He said "it is important to see now where there are such centers in your city, in your community and follow the map update in the coming weeks, while new points are added."

According to him, "it will be possible to find out where the nearest gas stations, a bank branch, a pharmacy, and a store are located on the website and in all the Points of Invincibility."

The local authorities have been tasked with ensuring that people are informed about the existence of the "Points of Invincibility." "It should be very simple: there should be information in government buildings, pharmacies, shops, post offices about where a person can find support during a long blackout," Zelensky said.

"And it is very important that conscientious business is already joining this initiative of ours. I thank all the entrepreneurs who have now decided to support society and make their business facilities also ‘Points of Invincibility’ – with generators, Starlinks, water and others," he said.

He urged to pay attention to the fact that "our website nezlamnist.gov.ua has a special form for business representatives who want to join and become a ‘Point of Invincibility’ for Ukrainians. I am sure that by helping each other, we will all be able to get through this winter together."
