Zelensky informs Finnish president on battle situation, discusses further defense cooperation
KYIV. Sept 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinistö have had a phone conversation to discuss the further defense cooperation between the countries and visa restrictions for the Russian citizens.
"Informed Finnish President Sauli Niinistö about the current situation on the frontline. Discussed further defense cooperation between Ukraine and Finland. Expressed gratitude for the help provided. The issue of visa restrictions for the citizens of the Russian Federation was touched upon," Zelensky said on Twitter.
In turn, Niinistö said they also discussed sanctions on Russia.
"In our phone call, President Zelensky gave valuable information on the battle situation and the progress of Ukrainian forces. We also discussed the continuing Finnish assistance to Ukraine and the sanctions on Russia," he said on Twitter.
