Zelensky: Fruitful cooperation, Ukraine ties with UK irritates Russia

KYIV. May 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed confidence that Russia is annoyed by the fruitful cooperation and closeness of Ukraine and the UK.

"The day before yesterday, when you, Boris [Johnson, Prime Minister of Great Britain], spoke in our parliament, the Russian army launched 15 missile strikes on Ukraine. This can be called a certain Russian ‘compliment’ to your brilliant performance and our fruitful interstate cooperation. Because yesterday there were seven such strikes. Obviously, Russia is annoyed by the closeness of Ukraine and the UK," Zelensky said in his video message as part of the Brave Ukraine charity evening, which takes place in the United Kingdom on Thursday evening.

This, according to the head of state, means exactly that Ukraine and the UK are powerfully defending freedom in Europe.

As reported, Boris Johnson spoke on May 3 before the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The British Prime Minister, in particular, announced plans to send Brimstone anti-ship missiles to Ukraine in the coming weeks, as well as provide a new support package for GBP 300 million.
