Zelensky expresses his condolences to Biden over death of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan
KYIV. Sept 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed condolences to U.S. President Joe Biden due to the death of the U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan.
"Accept, Mr. President, condolences from me, from all Ukrainians on the death of your military, American heroes in Afghanistan. We understand this pain for sure, because for the eigth year in a row we have had a war in the east of our country, in Donbas. We have lost the best, 15,000 people," Zelensky said during a meeting with the U.S. President.
Earlier, the Pentagon announced the death of 13 U.S. servicemen in the explosion in Kabul on August 26, another 18 were wounded.
