Zelensky enacts NSDC decision of October 5 to impose sanctions against four companies
KYIV. Oct 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of October 5, 2021, which introduces economic sanctions against three Russian companies and an enterprise from Singapore.
The corresponding decree No. 497/2021, together with the corresponding decision and annexes to it, were published on the website of the head of state on Tuesday.
Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions against three Russian companies and one based in Singapore: Mayak, a ship lights manufacturer, Amursky Shipyard, Kazan Gunpowder Plant, and Zasshid PTE. LTD.
All sanctions are for three years, with the Russian companies facing the whole package of the restrictions as above. A full package of sanctions is applied against Russian companies, which provides for the blocking of assets, the termination of trading operations, the termination or restriction of transit through the territory of Ukraine, a ban on the withdrawal of capital outside Ukraine, the cancellation of all licenses, etc. The Singapore company is not subject to a ban on the entry of non-military and military vessels into the territorial waters of Ukraine.
In addition, the NSDC changed its previous decisions, in particular those dated May 14 (effective from May 21, 2021) and June 18 (effective from June 24, 2021).
All these sanctions and changes to the lists of sanctions were made on the basis of a filing by the Security Service of Ukraine. Ukraine’s diplomats are to inform the United States and European Union accordingly in order to raise the issue of them possibly imposing similar restrictive measures.
Presidential decree No. 497/2021 comes into force on the day of its promulgation, and control over its implementation is entrusted to NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov.
