Zelensky creates working group on threats to security, energy sectors of Ukraine

KYIV. Sept 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky creates working group to develop proposals to mitigate threats from construction of gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine.
Corresponding decree No. 545/2021-rp was published on the website of the head of state on Thursday evening.
“In order to prepare proposals on measures to prevent and minimize negative consequences for the state in connection with the construction of gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine … To create a working group to develop proposals on certain threats in the security and energy sectors of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the working group) and approve it personal composition (attached),” the document reads.
The working group includes: Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov, CEO of the National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz Ukrainy Yuriy Vitrenko, Minister of Energy Herman Haluschenko, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov. The head of the working group, if necessary, can make changes to its composition and involve representatives of executive authorities, scientific institutions, public associations, as well as independent experts in the work.
The working group should prepare proposals for arrangements to prevent and mitigate negative impact on the state from the construction of gas pipelines and develop proposals to reduce certain threats in the security and energy sectors.
The order comes into force from the day of its publication.
