Zelensky congratulates Trudeau on winning elections, expects to host him in Kyiv
KYIV. Sept 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on his victory in the parliamentary elections and expects him to visit Kyiv.
"Congratulations to Justin Trudeau on election victory. I am sure that the special partnership between Ukraine and Canada will be further strengthening. I look forward to host my friend Justin Trudeau in Kyiv with a visit," Zelensky wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
The ruling Liberal Party of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau won the parliamentary elections. Elections in Canada took place on September 20. Trudeau announced an early election on 15 August.
