Zelensky congratulates Sandu on 30th anniversary of Moldova's independence: Independence of our countries – result of many generations' efforts
KYIV. Aug 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated his Moldovan counterpart Maia Sandu on the 30th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Moldova, noting that Ukraine will always support the territorial integrity of Moldova within internationally recognized borders.
"Congratulations to Sandu Maia on the 30th anniversary of independence. Our countries’ independence is the result of the efforts of many generations. Ukraine will always support Moldova’s erritorial integrity. I wish the friendly people of Moldova peace, harmony & prosperity," Zelensky wrote on Twitter on Friday.
As reported, on Friday, August 27, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is paying visit to Chisinau on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Moldova at the invitation of head of the Moldovan state Maia Sandu.
During the visit, the President is expected to hold bilateral talks with Sandu and take part in a multilateral meeting of the heads of foreign delegations.
Earlier, the press service of the President of Moldova announced that the President of Poland Andrzej Duda had left for Chisinau on Thursday, August 26.
President of Romania Klaus Werner Iohannis is also expected.
