Zelensky, Blinken agree on positions before U.S.-Russian presidents' conversation

KYIV. Dec 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Department of State Secretary Antony Blinken in a telephone conversation agreed on their positions before the conversation between U.S. President Joseph Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Agreed positions with Antony Blinken before the phone conversation of Presidents Biden and Putin. Agreed to continue joint and concerted action. Grateful to the United States strategic partners and allies for the continued support of our sovereignty and territorial integrity. Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine," Zelensky said on his page on Twitter on Monday night, December 6.

According to the presidential press service, Zelensky said there is no alternative to the peace process. In this regard, they discussed the steps that Ukraine is taking and intends to take to activate it.

Zelensky also briefed Blinken about the situation along the borders of Ukraine.

They noted the importance of maintaining coordinated and effective sanctions pressure on Russia from international partners until the full restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The interlocutors separately touched upon the issue of the importance of enhancing the security of interaction, which would help curb Russia’s aggressive behavior towards Ukraine.

It was also agreed to hold a telephone conversation between Zelensky and Biden after talk between the presidents of the United States and Russia.
