Zelensky, Biden discuss Ukraine's further steps towards victory, importance of holding Russia accountable for war crimes

KYIV. Aug 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Joseph Biden held a conversation, discussed Ukraine’s further steps towards victory over the Russian Federation and the importance of holding Russia accountable for war crimes.
“Had a great conversation with U.S. President Joseph Biden. Thanked for the unwavering U.S. support for Ukrainian people – security and financial. We discussed Ukraine’s further steps on our path to the victory over the aggressor and importance of holding Russia accountable for war crimes,” Zelensky said on Twitter.
In turn, Biden noted that the United States will continue to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in the struggle to protect their sovereignty.
“I spoke with President Zelensky to congratulate Ukraine as it marks its Independence Day. I know it is a bittersweet anniversary, but I made it clear that the United States would continue to support Ukraine and its people as they fight to defend their sovereignty,” he said on Twitter.
