Zelensky announces increase in spending on education in 2022 state budget
KYIV. Sept 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The President of Ukraine congratulated Ukrainians on the Day of Knowledge and announced an increase in spending on the education sector, in particular, in the preparation of the state budget for 2022.
"We are renovating schools across the country and in the coming years will make Ukraine’s educational infrastructure truly modern. The government has a clear requirement to ensure annual growth of public spending on the education sector. This should be taken into account when preparing the 2022 budget," Zelensky wrote in his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
He also said that the program Healthy Ukraine dedicated to physical activity of schoolchildren and students has started, and said that "the state guarantees the conditions for this."
The head of state also noted the importance of motivation to learn and teach and wished it to all Ukrainians.
"Schoolchildren, students, their parents, as well as all teachers and lecturers – I congratulate you with September 1! We are working to ensure that Ukraine has a worldwide reputation as a country of wisdom and intellectuals!", a congratulatory message posted on Zelensky’s microblog on Twitter said.
