Zaporizhstal increases production of rolled products by 7.7% in Jan-Aug
KYIV. Sept 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In January-August this year, Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant increased its output of rolled products by 7.7% compared to the same period last year, to 2.248 million tonnes.
According to the performance indicators published on Wednesday, steel smelting during this period increased by 8%, to 2.653 million tonnes, cast iron – by 1.2%, to 2.934 million tonnes.
In August 2021, the plant produced 399,400 tonnes of cast iron (in August 2020 – 394,900 tonnes), 339,000 tonnes of steel (339,000 tonnes), and 284,400 tonnes of rolled products (283,000 tonnes).
Zaporizhstal is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Ukraine, the products of which are in a great demand among consumers in the internal market and in many countries of the world. The plant specializes in high quality hot-rolled steel, hot-rolled sheet, cold-rolled sheet, cold-rolled coil of carbon and low-alloy steels, as well as steel tape, black sheet, and a bent profile.
