Zaporizhkoks cuts output by one third in Jan-April because of war

KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PJSC Zaporizhkoks, one of the largest producers of coke products in Ukraine, which is part of the Metinvest group, in January-April of this year reduced its production by 33.1% compared to the same period last year, to 189,980 tonnes.

According to the company, 52,660 tonnes of coke were produced in April, 4,120 tonnes in March, 64,500 tonnes of coke in February, and 68,700 tonnes in January.

"The decrease in production compared to the same period last year is linked to a shortage of raw materials caused by hostilities," the company said.

As reported, Zaporizhkoks in 2021 reduced production by 1.9% compared to the previous year, to 837,200 tonnes.

Zaporizhkoks produces about 10% of coke produced in Ukraine. It has a full technological cycle for processing coke products. In addition, it produces coke oven gas and pitch coke.
