KYIV. Aug 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Power unit No. 6 of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (NPP) was disconnected from the grid as a result of repeated disconnection of the 750 kV Dnipro overhead line, the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate reported.
According to the regulator on Facebook on Thursday, the repeated shutdown of the 750 kV Dnipro overhead line occurred at 14:14 Kyiv time.
Prior to this, the overhead line was switched off at 12:12 on Thursday as a result of hostilities in the ZNPP location area. As a result, power unit No. 5 was shut down, followed by the emergency protection actuation, and power unit No. 6 was operating on its own.
Already by 12:29, as a result of the resumption of work of the overhead line, power unit No. 6 was connected to the grid, but at 14:14 it was switched off again.
At the same time, the regulator noted that there were no comments on the operation of automation and security systems.
