Zaluzhny discusses military assistance to Ukraine with Milley, requests delivery of F-16 aircraft

KYIV. Feb 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny, during a telephone conversation with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Armed Forces Mark Milley, on Monday discussed the supply of military equipment, weapons and ammunition within the framework of international technical assistance to Ukraine, the situation on the front line and plans of the Ukrainian defense forces.

“He actualized the need to strengthen the capabilities of the air defense system of Ukraine, in particular, by providing multi-purpose combat aircraft F-16,” wrote Zaluzhny on Telegram.

Commander-in-Chief thanked Milley, the leadership and the people of the United States for supporting Ukraine in the fight against the aggression of the Russian Federation.

“Every shell received, every piece of weapons and equipment is the saved lives of Ukrainian military and civilians. With the help of our partners, we are holding on and we will definitely win,” Zaluzhny stressed.
