Yermak: France's supply of AMX-10 RC to Ukraine is important step opening way for supply of heavy armored vehicles to other countries
KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak believes that France’s supply of AMX-10 RC to Ukraine is an important step that should open the way for the supply of heavy armored vehicles to other countries, the presidential press service said.
"We congratulate France on its decision to supply Ukraine with AMX-10 RC wheeled tanks. This is an important step that should open the way for the supply of heavy armored vehicles by other partners," the press service said, citing Yermak during a meeting with diplomatic adviser to the President of France on continental Europe and Turkey Isabelle Dumont.
He briefed Dumont on the current difficult situation at the frontline and Ukraine’s key needs for defense assistance that could be provided by France.
Yermak noted the urgent need to strengthen Ukrainian air defense as soon as possible, primarily to provide protection against Russian missile strikes.
The parties also discussed the implementation of Ukraine’s key international initiatives, in particular the peace formula and further common diplomatic efforts for its successful implementation.
As reported, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov held a conversation with French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu, thanked for the constant support of Ukraine and for the decision to provide AMX-10 RC wheeled tanks to the Ukrainian army.
