World Bank decision to discontinue Doing Business report won't affect Russia's plans to improve investment climate – Kremlin
MOSCOW. Sept 17 (Interfax) – The World Bank’s decision to discontinue its Doing Business report will not affect Russia’s plans to improve its investment climate, which is a long-term task, the Kremlin said.
"Our task to improve the investment climate is unrelated to the existence of rankings of any kind. A ranking is a measurement. The task still stands, and it only grows in relevance over time. So of course, this non-stop effort will continue," Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president’s spokesman, told reporters when asked whether there the task to improve the investment climate in Russia due to the discontinuation of the report still stood.
"As for the measurement criterion, well another will be chosen, but I don’t yet know which," Peskov said.
