Wage arrears in Ukraine up by 1.9% in Sept – statistics
KYIV. Oct 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The total wage arrears in Ukraine in September 2021 increased by 1.9% compared to August, increased by 53.3% since the beginning of the year and amounted to UAH 4.005 billion by October 1, the State Statistics Service reported.
According to its data, at enterprises that stopped submitting reports during 2019-2020, the amount of wage arrears on the same date amounted to UAH 158.4 million.
According to the statistics department, an increase in wage arrears in September 2021 was observed in Luhansk (by 65.7%), Volyn (by 22%), Lviv (by 16%), Chernivtsi (by 12.5%), Donetsk (by 10.8%), Kherson (by 10.4%), Rivne (by 8.1%), Cherkasy and Khmelnytsky (by 4.4%), Chernihiv (by 3.6%), Kharkiv (by 2.9%), Zhytomyr (2.5%), Mykolaiv (0.6%), Kirovohrad (0.5%) and Sumy (0.2%) regions.
At the same time, a reduction in wage arrears was recorded in Poltava (by 17.9%), Vinnytsia (by 12.7%), Zaporizhia (by 9.4%), Odesa and Ternopil (by 6.8%), Zakarpattia (by 6%), Kyiv (5%), Dnipropetrovsk (3.5%) and Ivano-Frankivsk (0.8%) regions, as well as Kyiv (8.4%).
The State Statistics Service clarifies that at the sectoral level in September 2021, wage arrears increased in financial and insurance activities – more than 1.5 times (up to UAH 6.454 million), in public administration and defense – by 3.7% (up to UAH 5.669 million), at industrial enterprises – by 3.6% (to UAH 3.085 billion), in construction – by 1.5% (to UAH 88.754 million), education – by 1.4% (to UAH 17.170 million), at transport enterprises – by 1% (up to UAH 220.654 million), in the field of administrative activities – by 0.6% (up to UAH 17.459 million).
At the same time, wage arrears decreased in the field of temporary accommodation and catering by 22% (to UAH 1.831 million), in provision of other types of services – by 14.7% (to UAH 2.490 million), in agriculture – by 10.4% (to UAH 54.965 million), wholesale and retail trade – by 8% (to UAH 34.351 million), in professional and scientific activities – by 6.4% (to UAH 290.367 million), real estate transactions – by 5.8% (to UAH 37.098 million), in healthcare – by 4.9% (to UAH 124.852 million), in the field of information and telecommunications – by 0.9% (to UAH 15.746 million), arts, sports and recreation – by 0.6% (to UAH 1.943 million).
