Volume of domestic transfers up by 21% in May-Dec 2022 – NBU
KYIV. March 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The volume of domestic transfers in May-December 2022 amounted to UAH 292.6 billion, which is UAH 51.1 billion, or 21% more than in the same period in 2021, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, at the beginning of the invasion, in February-April 2022, the submission of statistical reporting on the activities of systems for the transfer of funds was suspended.
It is indicated that the NovaPay money transfer system was the leader in terms of the amount of transfers within Ukraine (45% of all domestic transfers).
According to the NBU, the average amount of one transfer within Ukraine amounted to UAH 656.
At the same time, in May-December 2022, about $2.15 billion in equivalent was transferred to Ukraine using funds transfer systems (created by residents and non-residents), which approximately corresponds to the volume of transfers for the same period in 2021.
It is noted that through the money transfer system, the largest amounts of funds came to Ukraine from Italy (23%), Israel (18%), the United States (16%), Germany (7%) and Poland (4%).
The average amount of one such cross-border transfer to Ukraine amounted to $206.
The leaders in terms of the amount of transfers to Ukraine were Western Union (50% of all transfers), PrivatMoney (20%), and MoneyGram (17%).
In general, according to representative data, $13 billion in equivalent was transferred to Ukraine, including transfers through official channels, including banks, international money transfer systems, post offices and unofficial ones, by transferring funds from hand to hand.
