USA to provide Ukraine with another $400 mln military aid package, including T-72 tanks, armored personnel carriers, drones, boats
KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The United States will provide Ukraine with another $400 million military aid package, Deputy Pentagon Speaker Sabrina Singh said on Friday.
According to her, the specified package will include payment for the repair of 45 Czech T-72 tanks (the Netherlands will pay for the repair of another 45 such tanks), 250 M1117 armored personnel carriers, 40 armored boats, as well as 1,100 Phoenix Ghost kamikaze drones.
Singh believes that the first repaired tanks will be sent to Ukraine in December, but she has no exact deadlines for completing the deliveries. The deputy speaker of the U.S. Department of Defense noted that these tanks were included in the package due to the fact that the Ukrainian military already knows how to control them.
She also said that the military assistance package includes Hawk medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems, which can destroy enemy aircraft and missiles.
Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak thanked the United States for another package of military assistance, noting that "together we will be able to defeat the Russian evil."
