US Navy Sixth Fleet flagship leaving Black Sea
KYIV. Nov 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The flagship of the United States Navy’s Sixth Fleet, USS Mount Whitney, begins the transition from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean, the press service of the U. S. Naval Forces in Europe and Africa has said.
"The U.S. Sixth Fleet flagship USSMountWhitney, with embarked SIXTHFLT and STRIKFORNATO staffs, began its southbound transit from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea after concluding maritime operations and exercises alongside NATO allies and partners," it said on Twitter.
Earlier, the headquarters of the U.S. Navy in Europe and Africa reported that the flagship of the Sixth Fleet of the U.S. Navy conducted joint exercises in the Black Sea with the navies of Turkey, Romania and Ukraine.
