US general predicts war course after de-occupation of Kherson

KYIV. Nov 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The liberation of Kherson will allow the Ukrainian servicemen to strike using HIMARS against Russians who are on the outskirts of Crimea, thereby weakening the defense of the invaders and influencing further de-occupation, retired U.S. General, former commander of the U.S. Army in Europe, Ben Hodges believes.

"HIMARS will soon be firing from Kherson. The approaches to Crimea are within range. This will degrade Russian defenses/LOC’s while ‘left wing’ of the counter-offensive takes Mariupol and Melitopol by January. Then begins the decisive phase of the campaign…liberation of Crimea," Hodges said on the Twitter microblog.

At the same time, Hodges said that providing Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles, which will allow Ukrainian troops to strike at Russian military bases in the temporarily occupied Crimea from Kherson, can play an essential role.
