Urusky, reps of U.S. Institute for Defense Analysis discuss defense industry reform, US assistance

KYIV. Sept 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleh Urusky, during a meeting with a delegation from the Institute for Defense Analysis (IDA, US), led by Martin Gordon Neil, discussed the current reform of Ukraine’s defense industry and the provision of U.S. assistance in this process.

Urusky spoke about the architecture of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex, the goals and objectives that will be solved by the state holding companies Defense Systems of Ukraine and Aerospace Systems of Ukraine, as well as the role and powers of the supervisory boards, which will be formed in them, the agency’s website said on Thursday.

"IDA experts positively assessed the dynamics of those changes that are taking place in Ukraine in the process of reforming the defense and aerospace industry … The experts offered assistance in the development of regulatory documents necessary in the process of reform," the message says.
