UNSC backs Guterres' efforts to seek peaceful settlement in Ukraine – statement
KYIV. May 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The UN Security Council on Friday expressed support for UN Secretary General António Guterres’ efforts to seek a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, according to a statement adopted by the Security Council chairman on Ukraine.
"The Security Council expresses deep concern regarding the maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine. It recalls that all States have undertaken the obligation to settle their disputes by peaceful means. It supports efforts of the UN Secretary-General for a peaceful solution, " the statement approved at the Security Council meeting, the text of which was posted on the Twitter account of the French presidency of the Security Council, reads.
