Universalna insurer increases premiums by 25.5% in H1 2021

KYIV. Sept 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Universalna insurance company (Kyiv) in the first half of 2021 collected UAH 598.1 million in insurance premiums, which is 25.5% more than in the same period in 2020, according to the company’s website.

Under land transport insurance policies (KASKO), the company received UAH 245 million, which is 41% of the total structure of its insurance portfolio and is 30.3% higher than in the same period in 2020.

The second in the company’s portfolio is aviation insurance: its share is 23%, or UAH 138.8 million, which is 30.7% more than in the first half of 2020.

Equal shares of 7% each in the insurance portfolio are occupied by compulsory transport insurance policies (OSAGO), property and personal insurance and voluntary medical insurance.

In addition, insurance payments of Universalna in the first six months of this year amounted to UAH 182.4 million. The largest share is occupied by payments for motor insurance and voluntary health insurance. The total level of payments is 30.5%, including: UAH 102.2 million (41.7%) for KASKO, UAH 20.25 million (49.94%) for OSAGO and UAH 31.24 million (70.73%) for voluntary medical insurance.

Universalna insurance company was founded in 1991. It specializes in providing services in the field of risk insurance. It offers services in 42 types of insurance. Its regional network has more than 300 points of sale throughout Ukraine.

The main shareholders of the company are Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (Canada) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
