UN fully committed to support Grain Initiative – Gutierres
KYIV. Nov 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The UN is fully committed to support the work of the Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) under the Grain Initiative, UN Secretary-General António Gutierres said speaking via video link at the International Summit on Food Security in Kyiv.
He said that the UN will support the work of the JCC to continue the smooth implementation of the grain initiative, he said.
Gutierres also thanked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian people for their role in the grain initiative to restore Ukrainian ports’ access to the international market, which will promote the safe export of grain, foodstuffs.
The Grain Initiative is very important to overcome instability and hunger, he said.
