Ukrzaliznytsia receives first five out of 100 new passenger cars from Kriukiv Car Building Works

KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC Ukrzaliznytsia has received the first five compartment cars from the batch ordered from Kriukiv Car Building Works at the expense of the state budget.

As the Ukrzaliznytsia press service reported on Monday, the cars have already passed the final acceptance in Kyiv by specialists of the Passenger Company branch.

Under the terms of the contract, 20 out of 100 ordered cars are to be delivered to Ukrzaliznytsia by the end of 2021.

Kriukiv Car Building Works is to build and supply to Ukrzaliznytsia 51 compartment cars, 12 sleeping cars, 20 compartment cars equipped for transporting disabled passengers in wheelchairs, as well as 17 compartment cars for transporting passengers with disabilities in wheelchairs and a train manager compartment.

In 2021, the budget of Ukraine provides for the allocation of UAH 3 billion for the renewal of rolling stock for passenger traffic.
