Ukrzaliznytsia expects several hundred million losses in 2022
KYIV. Aug 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC Ukrzaliznytsia expects several hundred million losses for the current year, Yevhen Liaschenko, a member of the company’s board, said at a press conference.
"Last year we had a profit of UAH 465 million, this year we also had plans for profit, but now we are at a loss … This year we will be at a loss, but it will be controlled, will be covered by the state, with regard to the restoration of infrastructure and passenger transportation," he said.
As reported, Ukrzaliznytsia received about UAH 460 million in net profit in 2021 against almost UAH 11.9 billion in net loss in 2020. Before the war, it was expected that its net profit this year could reach UAH 1.7 billion.
