Ukrposhta to launch service for intl sales on Internet in April
KYIV. March 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – From the beginning of April, JSC Ukrposhta will launch the PRIME Small Packet service for international deliveries, created by the International Postal Corporation (IPC) for the online sales format, the press service of the postal operator reported on Monday.
“First of all, the PRIME Small Package focuses on regular customers of Ukrposhta, who export their goods by selling them on the Internet,” the state-owned company said in a release.
According to it, the new service will be 8% cheaper than the Small Package Recommended service, which is used by almost 80% of senders from Ukraine, however, it provides for the delivery of an order to the client’s mailbox without a signature and determines the priority procedure for processing the parcel in the country of destination and tracking the order in all countries of the PRIME network.
Ukrposhta clarified that the service will operate in 67 countries, in particular in Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, and from May 1 also in France.
The postal operator added that it would be possible to issue the service in online services: the API system, personal account and mobile application, but in April – only in the personal account.
According to information on the Ukrposhta website, at the same time, the operator plans to cancel 3% discounts on small packages in online services from May 1, however, the cumulative system of discounts for regular customers of the Small Package and PRIME Small Package services will remain in effect.
In addition, Ukrposhta reminded about the reduction of the cost of sending parcels to Germany by 60% from April 1: sending a parcel weighing up to 3 kg will cost $13.7, weighing 7 kg – $21.6, and for light shipments, tariffs for small packages from $5.6 will continue to apply. You can send a parcel from any branch of Ukrposhta with delivery to any location in Germany.
