Ukrposhta engages outsourcing companies to minimize peak loads, delivery delays

KYIV. Sept 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC Ukrposhta attracts outsourcing companies at tenders in the ProZorro state electronic trading system in an effort to minimize peak loads and wants to go through the winter holidays without critical delivery delays, CEO of Ukrposhta Igor Smelyansky has said.

"We diversify risks as best we can. It is clear that we cannot do everything. It is clear that we plan in advance both the number of people (we have learned to do this better), and we are attracting outsourcing (for a long time already to smooth out the peaks). We are already starting to plan better, in fact, a lot… Therefore, I really hope that we will work during the holidays without any critical problems, " he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

He also said that he expects a positive impact on the peak delivery processes due to a number of changes in the processes of its organization, including through the launch of its own direct flight from China and the transition to work not with the Chinese post, but with private carriers.

According to Smelyansky, Ukrposhta works with outsourcers through a number of tenders held on the ProZorro platform.

"These are outsourcing agencies that can give us personnel if we need them. Can their people get sick? Of course, they can get sick too. It also happened that the contractors were ready to give us people, but they were not given special passes to get to the sorting center. So now we are preparing buses in advance that could deliver, give people a ride… We have passed this path once and are preparing to go through it again. But I really want to believe that this time we will go through it easier," he said.

Smelyansky also said that he, as the head of a large company, is worried about the uncertainty of the issue of an acceptable reaction to the refusal of employees to vaccinate.

"Right now, I am concerned about how harsh I can approach the issue of vaccination, because, unfortunately, the numbers that I see for the company are depressing to me," the CEO of Ukrposhta said.

According to him, the company has organized the opportunity to vaccinate directly at the workplace, but people do not want to do this.
