Ukroboronprom together with NATO member country to build ammunition plant

KYIV. Sept 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukroboronprom State Concern, together with a NATO member country, will build an ammunition plant, the parties signed the corresponding agreement on September 19.

"This is already the second defense enterprise, on the construction of which international agreements have been reached and an appropriate agreement has been signed. There will be production of ammunition according to NATO standards," the concern said on its website.

There are no other details of the agreements in the press release.

According to it, Ukroboronprom also continues to help the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to equip combat units: with the start of the Russian full-scale invasion, the concern’s enterprises transferred five times more military equipment and weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine than in the entire last year.

In addition, mobile repair teams are working around the clock, returning equipment to combat condition right in the fields. "Thus, bringing Ukrainian, foreign and captured equipment to combat readiness, including after damage, is the key competence of the Ukroboronprom state concern today," the concern said.

One of the enterprises of the concern has received the right to carry out demining and other operations with explosive objects on the territory of Ukraine, it has its own Center for Humanitarian Demining and is accredited by the UN. The enterprise became the third in Ukraine after the Armed Forces and the State Emergency Service, which can neutralize and dispose of ammunition, Ukroboronprom said.

The state concern also announced that at the end of this week – from September 23 to September 25 – a defense forum for developers – the IDI Camp hackathon will be held. The topics for development and startups are electromagnetic weapons, interceptor drones, mine clearance, systems of psychological impact and protection of UAVs from EW means.
