Ukrnafta cuts oil production with condensate by 8.6% in 2022 – CEO
KYIV. Feb 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In 2022, PJSC Ukrnafta reduced oil production with condensate by 8.6% compared to 2021, to 1.37 million tonnes, the CEO of the company Serhiy Koretsky has said.
“The drop in production in 2022 was 8.6%,” he said in an interview with Business Censor publication.
According to him, the company currently stores the extracted volumes in underground pipelines, and expects to start exporting or processing it under a tolling scheme abroad as soon as possible.
Koretsky said that the company sells natural gas stocks in underground storage facilities at auction, while the current production of Ukrnafta is transferred to NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy as part of an earlier agreement.
“We sell the stocks from underground storage facilities. There are auctions, and there are end-user tenders, we go to them and fight for victory. We delivered all the new gas produced in December, January and February to Naftogaz under the 2020 agreement. There was a progressive scale return of gas: first, 20%, 50%, etc. Now and by the time the debt to Naftogaz is paid off. We plan to transfer the entire volume of produced gas,” he said.
The CEO of Ukrnafta also said that in 2023, in addition to work on intensifying production, the company plans to drill three new wells and carry out preparatory work for drilling at least eight in 2024.
“This is a lot, because in recent years Ukrnafta, at best, drilled one well a year. There are things that we cannot do on our own due to lack of funds and equipment. And maybe in terms of the distribution of risks in this difficult period. And we will offer it to potential partners,” Koretsky said.
According to him, potential investors and partners of the company can be both European and Ukrainian companies, with which relevant negotiations have been started.
