Ukrenergo will need a few more days of power restrictions to restore destroyed networks – company head

KYIV. Oct 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrenergo will need to limit electricity consumption over the next few days in order to restore the destroyed networks as a result of the unprecedented attacks of the Russian Federation on October 10, head of the company Volodymyr Kudrytsky said.

"During the next few days, we will need additional restrictions on electricity consumption to enable repair crews who work 24/7 to restore power grids and ensure reliable electricity supply again as quickly as possible," said Kudrytsky.

According to him, these fully controlled time restrictions will last several hours.

"They are introduced in full coordination with the dispatchers of Ukrenergo and are designed to preserve the balance in the energy system and speed up the restoration of power grids," he explained.

At the same time, he noted that on the evening of October 10, Ukrenergo restored energy supply in most regions, where it disappeared as a result of a large-scale and unprecedented missile attack on the energy infrastructure of main networks.

"No one in Europe has done what we had to do during this war. No one has ever faced such large-scale destruction. Our crews are working 24/7 to restore networks as soon as possible and provide electricity to all consumers," he emphasized.
