Ukrenergo to carry out extra repairs of energy facilities for reliable electricity supply in Odesa region – company's head

KYIV. Feb 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – NPC Ukrenergo at the end of this week will carry out additional repairs at its power facilities that supply electricity to Odesa region in order to increase its reliability, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, board chairman of the company, has said.

“At the end of this week, we plan to carry out additional repairs at our power facilities. We are also engaged in the complete restoration of all main substations operated by Ukrenergo. Together with the local distribution system operator DTEK Odesa Grids and the administration, we are working to provide this power center with a reliable energy supply. This is a priority for us,” Kudrytsky said on the air of the United News national telethon on Monday evening.

He explained that after supplying voltage to the critical infrastructure de-energized as a result of an accident in the power transmission system of Odesa and Odesa region, power engineers complete work on connecting all other consumers.

According to him, it is planned to resume the Odesa power supply scheme before the end of the day, but additional measures are needed to avoid such scales of outages.

“After the resumption of the temporary power supply scheme, we do not stop our efforts, but will work to improve the reliability of Odesa’s power supply so that events such as today’s do not happen at all or do not lead to such large-scale outages,” the Ukrenergo head said.

As reported, DTEK on Monday evening noted that Ukrenergo had eliminated an accident in the transmission system that led to a power outage on February 27 in almost all of Odesa and Odesa region.
