Ukrainians transfer $565 mln abroad through e-limits in 2021 – NBU department director
KYIV. Sept 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainians have transferred $565 million abroad using e-limits, Director of the Open Markets Department of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Oleksiy Lupin has said.
"If in 2019 the amount of withdrawn funds amounted to $200 million, in 2020 it amounted to $420 million, then in 2021 we see $565 million since the beginning of the year," he said at the Ukrainian Financial Forum organized by ICU on September 3.
According to Lupin, individuals are the most active in buying foreign securities. In particular, they send abroad three quarters of the total amount of transfers, and legal entities send 25%.
He said that a half of the individuals use the withdrawn money to purchase foreign securities, the other half to replenish their own accounts, most likely also for the purchase of securities.
