Ukrainians clear 83,000 cars with European license plates under preferential terms – MP

KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – From June 15 to November 11, the state budget received UAH 2.9 billion from customs clearance of 83,000 cars with foreign registration under preferential terms, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev has said.

"As of November 9, more than 83,000 cars were cleared through customs, and the budget received UAH 2.9 billion," he wrote on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.

"I ask the National Police to take measures to prevent cars with European license plates from driving through the streets and roads of our country," he added.

As reported, on June 15, 2021, amendments to legislation came into force, according to which used cars with European registration over five years old, which were imported into the territory of Ukraine before the end of 2020, are taxed at a preferential rate of value added tax and excise tax.

The preferential terms of customs clearance were valid until November 10, 2021 – 180 days from the date of their entry into force. For combatants who are directly in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone for more than 90 days from the date of entry into force of the laws, the period is 270 days, until February 8, 2022.
