Ukrainian insurers increase collection of payments through resident brokers by 33.7% in H1 2021 – NBU
KYIV. Aug 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian insurance companies in January-June 2021 collected UAH 100.054 million of payments on insurance contracts concluded through resident brokers, which is 33.7% more compared to the same period in 2020 (UAH 74.832 million), according to a posting on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
During this period, the number of insurance contracts concluded by brokers with resident insurers in favor of insurers amounted to 21,199. The amount of remuneration for the provision of broker services grew 5.7 times, to UAH 18.431 million.
At the same time, reinsurance payments received by resident insurers under 49 reinsurance contracts concluded by brokers amounted to UAH 19.921 million, while for the same period a year earlier under 62 contracts for UAH 14.832 million.
According to the NBU, nonresident reinsurers through brokers received UAH 413.169 million for reinsurance under 106 contracts, while in the first half of 2020 they received UAH 525.836 million under 117 contracts.
Insurance payments compensated by nonresident reinsurers amounted to UAH 41.641 million.
