Ukrainian govt approves procedure for payment of unpaid pensions for previous period to IDPs
KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the procedure for the payment of unpaid pensions for the previous period to internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday.
In particular, the procedure regulates the payment of pensions (monthly lifelong pay) that have not been paid for the period before the month of the resumption of their payment to internally displaced persons and persons who have refused a certificate of registration of an internally displaced person and registered their place of residence and permanently reside in a territory under the control of Ukrainian government.
Also, this procedure is intended to resolve the issue of payment of pensions that were not received in connection with the death of a pensioner from among the displaced persons and persons who lived in the occupied territory and were not registered as a displaced person in the controlled territory.
It is noted that the implementation of this act requires additional expenditures in the state budget in the amount of UAH 6.1 billion.
In addition, as of April 1, 2021, the Pension Fund includes UAH 76.7 billion of unpaid pensions for previous periods to retired retirees who are not registered in the territory controlled by Ukraine. If such pensioners apply to the Pension Fund, the corresponding expenses will need to be provided for in the Fund’s budget in the following periods.
