Ukrainian delegation in France discusses cooperation in finance, energy and infrastructure – President’s Office

KYIV. Jan 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian delegation in France held a series of talks on financial support for Ukraine, cooperation in the energy sector and the participation of French businesses in Ukrainian infrastructure projects, the press service of the President’s Office has reported.

“In the information field that has now developed in relation to our state, it is important to understand that the situation in the Ukrainian economy is stable and controlled. At the same time, Ukraine is negotiating with partners to create financial reserves to ensure resilience of its financial system in the event of a possible escalation from Russia,” the press service said, citing head of the delegation, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko.

During the talks in France, the Ukrainian delegation met with Minister of Economy and Finance of the French Republic Bruno Le Maire, at which they discussed the possibility of providing Ukraine with financial support on preferential terms.

The issue of cooperation between the two countries in nuclear energy was also raised. According to Deputy Head of the President’s Office Rostyslav Shurma, in this context, a detailed program of cooperation with the EDF corporation is being worked out.

In addition, during the visit, the participation of French companies in the projects of the Great Construction National Program initiated by President Volodymyr Zelensky was discussed.

In particular, as Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov said, at the meeting with representatives of Alstom, the details of the acquisition of locomotives made by this company by Ukraine were discussed.

“Now an intergovernmental agreement has been signed between Ukraine and France. We are discussing the terms of our commercial agreement. This is important for our economy, for our state,” Kubrakov said.

Participation in the project to create a Ukrainian national air carrier was discussed with representatives of Airbus.

“I think that our visit was quite successful, timely, and I hope that there will be concrete results rather quickly,” the Minister of Infrastructure said.
