Ukrainian Defense Minister plans to meet with Pentagon chief in Washington – media
WASHINGTON. Nov 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Newly appointed head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Oleksiy Reznikov is likely to visit Washington this week, CNN said, citing U.S. Defense Minister John Kirby.
According to Kirby, during the visit, Reznikov will meet with Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin.
"They will discuss the security situation in the region," CNN said, citing Kirby.
He said that Reznikov’s meeting with Austin is for informational purposes only.
On November 1, 2021, Reznikov submitted his resignation from the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine. On November 4, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Reznikov as Minister of Defense.
