Ukrainian business paid UAH 80 bln more in taxes in 2022 than in peaceful 2021 – PM
KYIV. Jan 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian business paid UAH 80 billion more taxes in 2022 than in the peaceful 2021, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
"Despite the continuation of hostilities and attacks by the enemy, we will do our best to make 2023 the first step for a major recovery of the Ukrainian economy. In 2022, we did the impossible and financed absolutely all budget expenses. In general, these expenses amounted to about UAH 2.7 trillion," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.
According to him, last year Ukrainian citizens and businesses paid more than UAH 900 billion to the state budget, another UAH 425 billion was paid to the Pension Fund and social insurance funds.
"About UAH 600 billion was received through the issuance of war bonds. We are grateful to the citizens and businesses, who bought these bonds and thus invested in a strong army and a stable state," the prime minister added.
Shmyhal thanked Ukrainian business, which paid UAH 80 billion more in taxes in 2022 than in 2021.
"Your resilience, patriotism, adaptability and social responsibility have made it possible to keep the economy of Ukraine afloat. 2023 should be the year of our victory and the year of the beginning of the restoration of our economy. We are working together for this," he said.
