Ukrainian border guards, military personnel of Armed Forces of Ukraine conduct joint exercises in Azov Sea

KYIV. Aug 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Fighters of the special actions department of the Mariupol detachment of the Marine Guard, together with the special forces of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, conducted exercises on parachute landing from helicopters in the Sea of ​​Azov.

According to the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on Thursday, fifteen special forces practiced jumping without a parachute into the open sea from a helicopter flying at an altitude of three to five meters.

In addition to landing, the special forces also practiced an imitation of a rescue operation with the evacuation of people in need of assistance on the high seas.

"Descending from the helicopter on a special launching device, the servicemen lifted each other out of the water, practicing situations both with an active person who resists the sea element, and with an imitation of an exhausted or wounded victim," the message says.

It reports that such joint exercises of the special actions department of the Mariupol Marine Guard detachment with the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are planned to be held regularly, since "this gives a good opportunity to develop, share experience and ensure a high level of combat training for special forces."
