Ukrainian Bayraktar TB-2 withstands attack of Russian fighter
KYIV. March 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian Bayraktar TB-2 withstood the attack of a Russian fighter, according to Ukraine Weapons Tracker project.
“Everyone heard about the recent MQ-9 incident – but we received a recent video that shows a Russian fighter unsuccessfully attempting to take down a much lighter Bayraktar TB-2 over the Black Sea neat the coast of Crimea using jet wash in a similar manner,” according to the statement of Ukraine Weapons Tracker on Twitter on Sunday, March 19.
The microblog is illustrated with a video from the onboard camera of the Bayraktar TB-2 drone, which shows an unsuccessful attack attempt by a Russian fighter.
Bayraktar TB2 is a strike operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicle of Turkish production. It has a long flight duration, capable of performing remotely controlled or autonomous flights. Aircraft and their weapons are controlled by the crew at the ground control station.
